Johnson Chevrolet-Buick Inc. has been a family owned and operated automobile dealership since 1971. In the early 1900's, it's Clintwood, Virginia location was used by a blacksmith. The lot was later sold and used for automobile sales.

Through the years it has remained an automobile dealership. Fred S. Johnson, who worked at the dealership in the clean up shop during his teen years, acquired partial ownership in July 1971 and it became Johnson-Mullins Chevrolet-Olds, Inc.

In April of 1978, Mr. Johnson acquired full ownership of the dealership and the name became Johnson Chevrolet Olds, Inc. Later, he added Buick and Pontiac and became the area's only 4 line GM dealer. He remained very active in the business until his death in July 1995.

Since that time, his sons, John and Randall have continued the tradition their father started many years ago. Today, Johnson Chevrolet-Buick Inc. remains at its original location on the corners of Mullins and McClure Avenues on highway 83 in Clintwood. It is still a family owned and operated automobile dealership with a focus on customer satisfaction, best price and selection, and with much community support and involvement.
